Digital Collaboration at ConnectEd
Every student benefits from a collaborative learning environment. We believe that a space that promotes working together means a more significant development of critical thinking, communication, self-esteem, and student responsibility. Our teachers are committed to creating this space during their live teaching sessions and even outside the virtual classroom.
At ConnectEd, we use various learning tools to ensure the best online learning experience for our students. In our digital collaboration space, students can interact online and offline. Our online class time inspires collaboration through chat, video conferencing, and break-out room functionality. Our digital model mirrors the critical functions of an in-person teacher, as students receive constant feedback and the opportunity to interact with their teacher and peers. For offline outside of class time, students can find grades, assignments, and exam practice posted on the learning management system.
Live Video Teaching
We understand that student engagement during live teaching is necessary to be the best online tuition. To ensure students participate in class, our teachers track and record attendance. They call upon each student to give class feedback during lessons.
Our teaching philosophy encourages student-to-student interaction. We guarantee students are learning from one another through the breakout room functionality on the digital platform. Teachers post questions in the live-chat box and then send students out to their breakout rooms to discuss and answer the questions together while the teacher is monitoring. There must be a safe and open online classroom environment nurtured through the way students work together to solve problems. Our teachers also take the time to give students positive reinforcement and ask clarifying questions to advocate for student’s self-esteem. If students feel empowered to engage, they will continue to participate even when they occasionally make mistakes.
The digital platform also enables annotation so that both the students and teachers can interact with the classroom material in real-time. Our teachers work diligently to create appealing lessons with various question formats and examples. Students are encouraged to answer these questions or ask questions for clarification if they don’t fully understand.
Learning Tools That Promote Digital Collaboration
There are three live classes a week, but the learning doesn’t stop there. We deploy several learning tools designed to reinforce the content taught in lectures. These tools include question banks, practice exams, matching exercises, drawings, and mind maps. Our online platform is up-to-date with assignment ideas that assimilate real-life usage of both math and science. Some of our students have even eagerly created some of these ideas for school projects. They interact with course material outside of the classroom! Our teachers also upload flashcards and discussion boards for at-home practice and offline collaboration. Students have enjoyed these learning tools that have kept their minds activated throughout the week.
When students and parents log in to their profiles on the learning management system, they’re also able to see their progress and grades and when assignments are due. This tool promotes our students’ responsibility in their learning process. Safeguarded academic success and growth happen through the thoughtful use of each learning technology.
